Stapleton also rushed in a touchdown and won the offensive player of the week title. Gator receiver, Cleavon Brooks had a great game catching 5 passes for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brooks currently leads the league in receiving!!! Team Captain and Receiver, Anthony Powell also caught a touchdown pass and the other two TDs were caught by receivers Maxzell Williams and Tony Montgomery. The Gators' six offensive scores were not the teams only points as the defense put two TDS on the board with returned INTS. Maxzell Williams and Larry Middleton each returned picks for six. Cleavon Brooks, in addition to a great offensive showing, earned the Defensive Player of the week title catching 2 INTS and getting 2 deflections and a tackle. The Bulldogs' defense was unable to stop The Gators' powerful offense posting only 5 tackles total in the game. In addition to the five tackles, Bulldog, Jason Finley gave the team some hope catching an INT and returning it 15 yards. The Bulldogs offense was similarly stunned with three different Quarterbacks throwing 24 passes and completing only 5 for 38 yards. The Bulldogs three quarterbacks also rushed for 44 yards between them.

Scores had a two point lead for most of the game but Lynx made it exciting with a chance late in the game to take the lead. After not capitalizing on the opportunity, Scores sealed the deal during the games final drive as Day found Navaro for the final score.

- Marques Fuller #77 Stallions writes...
Dear CCFFL, I am writing this response only because of certain calls that are made at critical times. Now every team will say that their particular team never gets calls. Everyone makes that claim and maybe to a point, some of those arguments are justified. But, it seems to me that in a outcome of a Stallions game (win or lose), we are always on the short end of the Ref's calls. I respect all calls that are made on the field and the Referees are doing the best job possible to keep the games in order. With that said, I want to see more Referees read and analyze The CCFFL rulebook and not to go off of High School, NCAA, NFL or their own personal rules that they may go by. The more they study the league's rulebook, the better the games will be officiated. All I'm saying is that I notice that a lot of calls that are made are not in conjunction with the league's rulebook. Thank You,
Marques Fuller, Stallions
Mean Streak 12 Vs. Scores 21
Scores Quarterback, Jeff Day completed half of his passes for 211 yards and scored the games first touchdown rushing against Mean Streak. Day's rushing touchdown was the only first half score for either team as the two teams defenses both put up a tough fight. Scores Linebacker, Jason Silverhardt had 4 tackles, 2 sacks and a deflection while Victor McCombs grabbed 5 tackles and Jeff Day, at Safety had 2 tackles, a deflection and an INT. Mean Streak's defense was led by #21 Jeremy Finn. Finn had 4 tackles, 2 deflections and an interception. Finn was joined in his efforts by Safety, Maurice Carter who had 4 tackles and 2 deflections. Mean Streak welcomed back defensive end Jose Iza who had 1 tackle and 3 sacks. Will Franklin also had a tackle in the game along with an INT. Franklin scored his teams first touchdown early in the games second half rushing it in from 17 yards back. Scores answered that touchdown with one of their own on a pass to tight end, Eric Brown. Mean Streak scored again on a pass from QB, Brian Gorsett to Josh Scott but they were unable to convert leaving them with a one point deficit. The two offenses were similar but Cornerback, Jacob Nordman made the games difference defensively scoring the winning touchdown on a 62-yard interception return.
Confederates 13 Vs. Stallions 25
The Stallions came out strong against the defending-champion Confederates. Stallions' Quarterback, Rudy Hill, rushed in their first score effortlessly from 20 yards back. Larry Harper scored the teams second touchdown on a 56-yard bomb from Hill. The Stallions held on to a 13-point lead for much of the first half until the Feds got two consecutive scores right before the halftime break. Feds' Quarterback, Shawn Hudson, completed two touchdown passes, one to Ed Zinda followed by one to Emil Lovec. At half time, the two teams were tied with 13 each but The Stallions defense stopped The Feds from scoring at all in the second half. Stallions' Larry Harper and Tim Williams stopped two Fed drives completely each catching an INT. Harper also had two tackles. Defensive Ends, Marques Fuller, Eric Stangeland and Quincy French kept the pressure on Hudson with two sacks by Fuller and 1 each by Stangeland and French. Though the Feds defense had some highlights of its own with Emil Lovec grabbing 7 flags and Joe Eckman posting two tackles and 2 sacks, they couldn't stop The Stallions powerful running game. Rudy Hill ran in a second rushing touchdown to break the 13 all tie. Stallions' running back, Jason Jones rushed 13 times for 84 yards and the games final TD.
Lynx 9 Vs. Gators 22
The Gators didn't have as easy of a time with Lynx as they did in their week one game but they came out the victors none the less. Lynx defense put up a good fight but couldn't stop Gator, Wide Receiver, Cleavon Brooks. Brooks caught 6 passes for 31 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brooks would have had twenty more yards but unfortanatly lost them after catching a pass and dropping back into the endzone then being penalized for throwing a second forward pass. That penalty resulted in a two-point safety for Lynx. Gator, quarterback, Jeff Stapleton completed 12 of his 21 passes for 143 yards and the three touchdowns to Brooks. Receiver, Maxzell Williams caught 4 passes for 65 yards. The Gator defense was brutal posting two INTS one from Williams and 1 from team captain, Anthony Powell. Larry Middleton earned defensive player of the week by keeping the pressure on Lynx, Quarterback, Lee Robertson. Middleton had three sacks on the QB and 4 tackles as well. The Gator defense held Lynx to only one touchdown in the game. Lee Robertson connected with George Garton for that score. Garton caught 6 passes for 91 yards.

Paul Harting had 2 tackles and an INT and Jeremy Branham caused another turnover with a fumble recovery. Offensively, Harting pretty well did as he pleased, however, Bulldog, Ben Kallas was able to stop two Rip-N-Tear drives with an INT and a fumble recovery. Kallas also had two tackles and a deflection.
Mean Streak 34 Vs. Bulldogs 6
Mean Streak's Kiko Vega earned offensive player of the week and lead the Streak to a victory against the Bulldogs. Vega caught 3 passes, 2 for touchdowns and racked up 151 yards. Will Franklin stepped in as QB in Brian Gorsett's absence. Franklin completed 5 passes for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also, rushed for a TD and a total of 88 yards. Luke Chavez scored 2 Mean Streak TDs, one in the air and the other on the ground. Bulldog receiver, Ben Kallas, tried to create some sparks catching 6 passes for 106 yards. Bulldog, QB, Alan Ross, completed 9 passes for 156 yards, his best game of the season, but he was only able to get in the end zone once with a pass to Chuck Tonzi. Mean Streak's defensive end, Jose Iza, was instrumental in shutting down the Dogs. Iza had 4 tackles and 3 sacks but the Bulldogs were even more troubled by turnovers caused by Kiko Vego, Maurice Carter and Mark Alano each with one INT.
Confederates 47 Vs. Lynx 12
The Confederates' offense was on fire when they faced Lynx in game 2. The Feds accumulated 7 touchdowns, scoring on almost every drive. Quarterback, Shawn Hudson had all the time in the world behind the brutal line of Neal Braunel, Joe Eckman and John Acuna. Hudson completed 72% of his passes for 286 yards and 4 touchdowns. The powerful line also allowed running back, Jason Plaut, 3 rushing touchdowns and 52 total yards. Plaut also had 48 receiving yards with 1 TD. Receivers, Emil Loved and Nate Nelson both had 100 yard days and each scored a touchdown. George Garton and Lee Robertson both scored touchdowns in the first half for Lynx. Garton caught a 28-yard TD pass and Robertson rushed in a 53-yarder. Those were the only points Lynx managed to get. The Feds' defense held Lynx to only 98 passing yards. Dan Martin and Emil Lovec each caught one INT and Ed Zinda kept the pressure on the Lynx QB with 3 sacks. James Meyer was active on the Lynx defense with 5 tackles and 3 deflections while Robb Klussman got 5 tackles and 1 sack. Lynx Captain, Robert Ryan, managed to sneak his way around the Feds' line to sack his former QB 1 time but on his second attempt to sack him, Hudson got even with a stiff arm that landed Ryan on the ground.
Gators 46 Vs. Rip-N-Tear 8
Gators' receiver, Cleavon Brooks, seemed unstoppable yet again. Brooks racked up another 124 yards and scored 1 touchdown. Gator quarterback, Jeff Stapleton, had his way with Rip-N-Tear, completing 14 of 22 passes for 242 yards and 5 TDs. Stapleton found Larry Middleton for 1 touchdown and threw 3 passes for 61 yards to Tony Montgomery all resulting in TDs. Defensively, the Gators were also a force to be reckoned with. They scored 2 points on a safety and Tony Montgomery scored on a 38-yard INT return while Ryan Koger put up 6 returning a fumble. Cleavon Brooks was equally effective on offense with 5 tackles and an interception. The Gators held the Rip-N-Tear passing game to an unusually low 54 yards and only one TD. Rip QB, Paul Harting looked like a one-man team being forced to run, gaining 60 yards on the ground and putting up most of the defensive fight himself with 4 tackles and 2 deflections.
Scores 22 Vs. Stallions 12
In the most exciting game of the day, Scores knocked down the only-remaining, undefeated team. Scores' quarterback, Jeff Day, only had to throw the ball 16 times completing 7 passes for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. Day found receivers, Jacob Nordman and Mike Navarro for his team's 2 scores in the first half. Stallion Larry Harper returned the games opening kick off for a TD. Stallions QB, Rudy Hill scored a rushing touchdown also in the first half bringing the two teams into the break with a score of 14 to 12, Scores. Scores linebacker and defensive, player-of-the-week, Jason Silverhardt was key in stopping the powerful Stallion running game. Silverhardt had 3 tackles and 4 sacks. League-leading, Stallion, running back, Jason Jones was held to a rare 6 carries for only 30 yards. As a whole, the Scores' defense was devastating, allowing only 3 completions by QB, Rudy Hill. The Stallions were scoreless in the second half. Despite efforts by Stallions' safety, Brian Peterson, who had 3 deflections and 1 tackle, Jeff Day rushed in to give Scores the second-half touchdown they needed to seal their victory
Congratulations to the Gators for their first place finish.
